3 Days in Jaipur Itinerary: Palaces, Bazaars, and Rooftop Evenings
See Amer Fort, the City Palace loop, and Jaipur’s bazaars in three days without treating the Pink City like a checklist marathon.

Jaipur is dense. The mistake is stacking Amer, Nahargarh, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and Albert Hall into one punishing day. Split the forts and the old city.
Day 1 — Amber and the ridge
- Early start to Amer Fort. Walk up or take a jeep; skip elephant rides.
- Jal Mahal viewpoint on the way back — a photo stop, not a long visit.
- Evening: Nahargarh for sunset if energy remains, or a rooftop thali in the old city.
Day 2 — Pink City core
Stay inside the walled city.
- City Palace and Jantar Mantar in the morning.
- Hawa Mahal is best from the street unless you want the interior museum.
- Afternoon: Johari and Bapu bazaars for textiles and silver. Bargain politely; walk away once.
- Evening: a quiet hotel courtyard. Jaipur traffic at dusk is not a scenic activity.
Day 3 — Museums or a day trip
- Option A: Albert Hall Museum and a café morning, then fly or train out.
- Option B: Abhaneri stepwell (Chand Baori) if you have a car and a half day.
Practical notes
- Heat: April–June is harsh. October–March is the comfortable window. Carry water and start forts at opening time.
- Dress: shoulders covered for palaces and temples.
- Getting around: autos are fine for the old city; use a car for Amer.
